Simple Human Mirror Review – Never leaving the house again!

Several months ago a friend and client Effie reached out to me to boast about this amazing new mirror she got from her hubby. She mentioned this simple human mirror and I made a mental note to check it out sometime. I didn’t realize just how awesome this mirror was. Now that I’m training in Sephora’s around the West Coast 5 days a week I stare in it almost daily.

It has the most brilliant white light for makeup and turns on automatically when you lean in (charges with USB).

The vast amount of things you can see in this thing is insane!! I meant to buy it during Sephora friends and family for 20% off but missed out.

The Simple Human Mirror comes in 3 forms: The Small, The Large and the Wall Mounted. Click on any of the pics to view on amazon.

The small retails for $129:

while the large retails for $199:

wall mounted also retails for $199:

I finally took the plunge and purchased one and have not regretted it whatsoever. I chose the small not just because of the savings but because with something so magnified you’re usually only focused on one part of your face at a time so the larger doesn’t make much difference.

I spent 2 hours the other night with my extractor dipped in alcohol just getting everything out of my face.. it was gross and amazing at the same time. My friend Tim came over and spent 30 minutes plucking hairs he never knew he had. It’s wondrous. Best purchase of 2015 so far!

Great way to spend those Holiday Amazon gift cards!

You’ll need one of these as well…

New Contributors to BeautyStyled means more info and more experts!

I wanted to take a moment to share that I’m going to be changing up this blog for the better. Working full time and running a business full time on the side is so much work that it’s hard to find extra time to write for you guys. I have met and continue to meet so many people that inspire me and challenge me in new ways that I want to share them with you! I have a close group of people that are similar to me in the sense that they are professionals and experts in their craft whether it’s skincare, makeup or hair. I have invited them to share their knowledge on beautystyled.com and they couldn’t be more excited!

Lauren Clark is a Celebrity Hair Stylist from Beverly Hills (and my personal hair stylist). She was one of the first connections I made here in LA and is the only person I trust to touch my hair from now on. We have worked on many projects already and she has so much knowledge about hair and health that she is excited to share.

Dena Thurston is one of my best friends and a Regional makeup artist for Trish McEvoy. She has brought so much joy to my life not only as a friend but a partner in business as well. She is from Minnesota but is currently living in St. Louis. She is a stellar makeup artist and her organic recipes and lifestyle tips are just as fab as her skills behind a makeup brush.

Kelly Kossakoski is one of my oldest friends in the biz. She has worked for many different brands and is currently one of the top people at TARTE Cosmetics. We met when I worked for MAC over 6 years ago. She sees life in a way that I am envious of. She finds beauty in everything and is one of the most inspirational and motivating people I know.

These people are my dearest friends and colleagues and while I am very private with my personal life and friendships, I feel it’s best to share these people and their knowledge with you. We all have one goal in mind and that’s to make the world a more healthy and beautiful place, one post at a time 🙂

Holy Mother of Massage! BelleCore Body Buffer Review!

bellecore baby belle body buffer

What I thought was an innocent stroll into Bloomingdales ended with a scary addition to my Amex bill. I blame it all on BelleCore Baby Belle Body Buffer (Say that 6 times fast..)! BelleCore is a body buffer/massage/heaven-deliverer that I’ve been using just over 2 months and the results are incredible.

First of all, I suffer from a condition that almost every person with Irish blood has, Keratosis Pilaris. It is a common skin condition that causes rough patches and small, acne-like bumps, usually on the arms, thighs, cheeks and buttocks (MayoClinic.com). I have it just a bit on the backs of my arms and occasionally thighs. The BelleCore buffer completely eliminated my keratosis pilaris!

Here is BelleCore’s description of how it works (BelleBodyBuffer.com): “Simply put, our bodybuffers simultaneously spin and zigzag back and forth, sending constant, concentrated energy into treated areas. This oscillating massage boosts blood and lymphatic flow, stimulates collagen formation and stretches fibrous tissues to improve elasticity – creating multiple benefits for your appearance and promoting a feeling of well-being.”

There is also a terrycloth pad on the machine that buffs away dead skin while it’s doing all of it’s other magic.

As a makeup artist, I’m constantly on my feet and have a lot of issues because of it. I have chronic knee pain, back pain and shoulder damage. While the BelleCore didn’t cure me of all my symptoms, my muscles have gotten SO much better the last month! It’s also reduced the appearance of thigh cellulite!

I’m not a sporty person, but many other reviews online are from people who participate in active sports and use this as a muscle treatment before and after workouts, including many professional sports trainers.

The third best thing about this product is that it’s literally the best massage tool I’ve ever used. I can’t convey on here how powerful it is, but it puts anything else found at Bed Bath Beyond or that mall store with all the electronic gadgets to shame!

There is only issue I’ve found with my BabyBelle, and it’s more of an annoyance than a problem. BelleCore does have to be plugged in when in use, and occasionally the cord comes unplugged and you have to reinsert it. Really not a big deal but I would like future models that use batteries or are rechargeable. Other than that, it’s definitely worth the splurge and the results are amazing. You can order the BabyBelle model I use through Amazon here, or if you’re feeling extra indulgent, or you’re into sports or fitness training you can order the full size HoneyBelle here.

This blog is now officially WWW.BEAUTYSTYLED.COM

As more individuals are subscribing to this blog, I know it’s due to the content I’m posting and not because you’re a fan of my work. I get that- and love that. I decided to switch the site to focus more on content rather than myself since there are plenty of places you can keep up with me and my makeup artistry (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter).

I wanted a name that people can remember and be able to access without going through my personal sites.

There are so many things that I’m passionate about. Makeup Artistry, helping people with their skin, being an educator and also being a personal stylist for beauty. That’s what made me want to create “Beauty Styled”. I’m proud to be constantly trained in so many makeup and treatment lines and want to give you the resources and expertise needed to make the often confusing decisions about which moisturizer works better for you or which eyeliner won’t run.

Any questions or topics you would like me to address, please contact me at MDMAmakeup@gmail.com
