Trish McEvoy Makeup Tutorial & Review

So many of my essentials for myself, and my clients are by Trish McEvoy. I wanted to challenge myself to use all one line to do my face and show how great it is. The only thing I used that wasn’t Trish is the brow product (simply because I don’t yet own the Trish Brow Pencil!). What other brands do you want to see featured in a “One Brand Challenge” video?

Products used are:

Eye Base Essentials “Bare” (most popular color)
Instant Eye Lift
Intense Gel Pencil
Lash Curling Mascara
Treatment Foundation
Face Shaper
Barely Rose Lipliner
Precious Pink Lipstick

How to Wear Eyeliner as Eyeshadow

This is something I’ve done since I started wearing makeup. I think it’s an easy way to get a professional looking eye with very little work. Try it at home with your favorite gel liners! For more drama try black smudged out with a pop of shimmer in the center. Don’t forget to blend your edges!

(My earrings are Kathleen Whitaker and purchased from Mohawk General Store in Silverlake neighborhood of LA)

Makeup Mystery Theatre Episode 2: Concert Makeup!

I love these MMT videos because you’re in for the surprise along with me. When you’ve been doing makeup as long as I have or get to the point of owning as much makeup as I do, it almost makes it harder to plan out looks because there are so many choices! It’s like trying to order something at the Cheesecake factory.

Once I turn my camera on, all bets are off. I like the way this look turned out, I got tons of compliments that day and it was great seeing some old friends that night, I felt like a rockstar.

What “dark circles” really are and how you can lose them!

Dark Circles are a pain in the ass! They happen due to blood pooling under the thin skin below our eyes. Here’s how to fix them!

Trish McEvoy Treatment Foundation (and in case you are wondering why the color looks wack- I had just done a self tan treatment on my body and the color hadn’t set in yet. Near the end of the video you’ll see how it matches)

What the heck am I doing teaching hair?!

Hell has frozen over everyone. I, Megan Dugan, queen of the original sock-bun has a hair tutorial. I learned this style from my new hair guru Lauren Clark, a stylist at Robert Vetica salon located in the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. I have always thought the best red carpet look is long, flowing hair perfectly waved to the side. I’ve never figured it out and always gave myself “mom hair” (no offense to moms), you know, random curls that look like bad homecoming ‘do’s? Curls have never been in my favor and my natural waves make me look somewhat homeless, or like a just released inmate.

The trick to this style is setting the curls, and FINGER STYLING. I never knew about finger styling until recently, and it’s changed everything. To get this trick at home, follow along!

Products needed:

Leonor Greyl Mousse

1″ wand (I typed wang 3 times on accident) – The same one I have

Elnett Hairspray

Wide tooth comb

A few of my favorite things… from Trish McEvoy!

trish mcevoy cosmetics

If I’ve ever done your makeup I’ve surely used Trish product on you. The brand, solely owned by Trish herself, is constantly adapting and becoming a household name. What sets Trish aside from other brands is the education behind the product. That’s why I have been so drawn to it over the years. Besides that, every product works wonders and is designed for women to be able to use even if they aren’t naturall blessed with the makeup gene. Whether you are a stay-at-home mom or a pro makeup artist, there are essentials that beat out every other brand and I show them in my newest tutorial.

Why I love creme blush (you should too!).

Next time you’re on the hunt for a blush, challenge yourself and pick up a creme one. You can apply them with almost any type of foundation brush (a small stipple brush is my favorite) or your fingers.

My current and all time favorite creme blushes are:

La Prarie, Chanel, YSL, Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge, MAC Creme Blush and NARS Multiple Sticks.

Ridiculously Easy Smokey Eye Tutorial

via MDMAmakeup on Instagram

I am pretty good with being able to understand problems people have with makeup. I’m very blessed that I just have always seemed to get how to hold my skin to apply eyeliner, what faces to make when doing my brows.. it just comes natural. I realize about 75% of people who use makeup don’t have those built in makeup superpowers. That’s okay! You should still be able to give yourself a sultry eye without a visit to the makeup counter. Here’s how!

Products used:

Laura Mercier Eye Base: Wheat

Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow: Burnt (I think I said brown) Sugar

Chanel Illusion D’Ombre: Mirifique

MAC Pigment: Naked, Reflects Gold (MAC Store Only)

Dior Art Pen Liner

NARS Larger Than Life Eyeliner: Rue Saint Honore

YSL Faux Cils Mascara: #5 (Best EVER)

MAC Brow Gel Pot: Dirty Blonde
Was limited edition, can be replaced with Color of your choice in Anastasia Dipbrow
